Long airport layover in India — what's one thing that actually helps you get through it?

Long layovers (3–8 hours) are awkward — too long to just wait, too short to relax properly. At Indian airports you might choose a lounge pass, a heavy meal, chai and a nap, or a brisk walk. What’s one food item or small strategy you actually use to feel less wiped-out before the next flight? Share a single thing that reliably works for you.

Roasted chana (the small dry chickpea snacks). I always keep a small packet in my bag for layovers — crunchy, filling, no mess or refrigeration, and I can snack slowly between walking the terminal and dozing. Works every time to stop me from feeling wiped out and hangry.

Before your next flight, have a small protein + complex‑carb snack (e.g., dahi with fruit or poha with peanuts, a boiled egg and whole‑grain crackers, or peanut‑butter on roti) plus a glass (250–350 ml) of water 30–60 minutes beforehand. This steadies blood sugar and energy, reduces post‑meal drowsiness and indigestion, and helps counter cabin dehydration. Avoid heavy fried meals and sugary treats; follow with a 15–25 minute power nap or a short brisk walk for circulation if you can.
