Trust & Safety

Community guidelines

GoFitYatra Community is a place to ask questions, share practical experiences, and learn from different perspectives on Indian food, fitness, and healthier everyday living. These guidelines explain what makes a discussion useful and safe, what is not allowed, and what can happen when content or behavior crosses a boundary.

1. What we want this community to be

Be respectful

Disagree with ideas, not people. Do not harass, insult, threaten, shame, bully, or deliberately provoke other members.

Be useful

Ask clear questions, provide enough context to make a discussion useful, and contribute information or experiences that can help others.

Share experiences honestly

Personal experiences are valuable, but they are not universal proof. Say what happened to you without presenting your experience as a guaranteed result for someone else.

Respect different lifestyles

GoFitYatra Community is built around Indian lifestyles and many different ways of eating, moving, working, celebrating, and living. Do not shame people for their food choices, body, fitness level, culture, or routine.

2. What is not allowed

The following types of content or behavior are not welcome in GoFitYatra Community:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, or targeted abuse.
  • Racist, casteist, sexist, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise hateful or degrading content targeting a person or group.
  • Attacks, slurs, stereotypes, exclusion, or demeaning statements based on race, caste, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other personal characteristics.
  • Sexually explicit content or sexual exploitation.
  • Content that promotes self-harm, eating disorders, dangerous weight-loss practices, or other deliberately harmful behavior.
  • Dangerous exercise instructions, reckless challenges, or advice that could reasonably put someone at risk of injury.
  • Fraud, scams, impersonation, phishing, malicious links, or attempts to manipulate or deceive other members.
  • Illegal activity or instructions intended to facilitate illegal activity.
  • Doxxing or sharing another person's private, confidential, or sensitive information without permission.
  • Spam, repetitive posts, automated promotion, SEO manipulation, or unrelated commercial solicitation.
  • Content that infringes another person's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

3. Health, medical, and safety discussions

Community discussion is not medical care

Questions, answers, experiences, and GoFitYatra Community discussions are general information and do not create a doctor-patient relationship or replace professional medical advice.

Do not diagnose other people

Do not tell another member that they have a medical condition or instruct them to start, stop, or change medication or treatment based only on a community discussion.

Be careful with injuries and health conditions

When discussing exercise, pain, injuries, medications, pregnancy, chronic conditions, or other health concerns, avoid confident instructions that ignore individual medical circumstances. Encourage appropriate professional care when it is warranted.

No miracle claims

Avoid presenting foods, supplements, exercises, traditional practices, detoxes, or routines as guaranteed cures or guaranteed ways to lose weight, build muscle, prevent disease, or achieve a particular health outcome.

Urgent situations belong with professionals

Do not rely on Community for emergencies or urgent medical decisions. If someone may be in immediate danger, they should seek appropriate local emergency or professional care.

You are responsible for your own decisions

If you choose to follow a routine, exercise, nutrition suggestion, food recommendation, supplement suggestion, or other advice shared in Community, you do so at your own discretion and responsibility. GoFitYatra does not guarantee that a community suggestion is suitable, safe, effective, or appropriate for your individual circumstances and is not responsible for outcomes resulting from your decision to follow community content.

For additional context, review our Medical Disclaimer and Safety Guidelines.

Community content reflects individual questions, experiences, and opinions. It may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for a particular person. You should use your own judgment and seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional before making health, medical, nutrition, or exercise decisions where professional guidance is appropriate.

4. Food, fitness, and evidence

Food and nutrition

Regional and seasonal foods, home cooking, restaurant meals, tiffins, delivery, vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets, and different cultural practices are all valid topics. Discuss trade-offs and evidence without food shaming or claiming that one diet is universally best.

Fitness and exercise

Share routines, movement ideas, and lessons from your own training responsibly. Avoid encouraging people to ignore pain, skip appropriate recovery, or attempt advanced movements without suitable preparation.

Evidence and uncertainty

When making a health or nutrition claim, be clear about how certain you are. If evidence is limited, mixed, or based mainly on personal experience, say so. GoFitYatra perspectives are intended to be evidence-informed, not a substitute for professional judgment.

5. Privacy, personal information, and content ownership

Protect privacy

Do not publish another person's phone number, address, private messages, account information, medical information, photographs, or other sensitive information without appropriate permission.

Only share what you are comfortable making public

Questions, answers, replies, and other community contributions may be visible to other users. Avoid including information that you do not want to share publicly.

Respect ownership

Do not copy and repost someone else's writing, images, videos, or other material as your own. When sharing useful external information, provide appropriate attribution and links where appropriate.

6. How moderation works

Moderation is intended to protect people and preserve useful discussion. It is not a promise that every post or reply is reviewed before other users can see it.

Publishing and review are separate

Community content may be published before a moderation review so conversations can remain active and useful. Published content may show a pending review or verification state while it is being evaluated.

Moderation can happen after publication

Our moderation process may review content after it has been published. Content can be reviewed because it was reported, because automated or scheduled moderation identified a concern, or as part of routine community safety processes.

Possible actions

Depending on the situation, GoFitYatra may leave content in place, add or retain a review indicator, restrict its visibility, lock a discussion, remove content, limit an account's ability to participate, or suspend or terminate an account.

Serious or repeated violations

We may take stronger action when behavior is severe, creates a meaningful safety risk, involves repeated violations, or attempts to evade previous moderation action.

7. Reporting a problem

If you see something that appears to violate these guidelines, report it as soon as you can. Reports help us identify content that may otherwise be missed and help us keep discussions safer for everyone.

Examples include:

  • Harassment, threats, hate, or targeted abuse.
  • Unsafe medical, nutrition, or exercise guidance.
  • Spam, scams, impersonation, or malicious links.
  • Privacy violations or personal information shared without permission.
  • Sexual, illegal, or otherwise prohibited content.
  • Content that appears to violate intellectual-property or other rights.

If you need help with a moderation concern or cannot use the available reporting tools, contact GoFitYatra Support.

8. Account restrictions and repeated violations

We may limit or suspend participation when an account repeatedly violates these guidelines, posts harmful content, attempts to evade moderation, or creates a significant risk to other users or the community.

We may also act immediately when a situation presents a serious safety, privacy, legal, or security concern. The action we take depends on the nature and severity of the situation.

These Community Guidelines work alongside the broader GoFitYatra policies. They do not replace them.

  • Terms of Service explain the broader terms for using GoFitYatra services.
  • Privacy Policy explains how applicable personal information is handled.
  • Medical Disclaimer explains the limits of health and fitness information provided by GoFitYatra.

10. The standard we want to build

The best community discussions do not require everyone to agree. They require people to be curious, honest about what they know, respectful of different experiences, and careful when health and safety are involved.

Ask thoughtful questions. Share what you have actually experienced. Be open to evidence and uncertainty. Help make GoFitYatra Community a place people can return to for practical, trustworthy conversations.
