Buying breakfast outside — how do you make it more filling and protein-rich without cooking?

If you often grab breakfast from a vendor, office canteen, tiffin service, or dhaba — idli, poha, stuffed paratha, omelette roll, etc. — what small requests or combos do you ask for to make it more filling and higher in protein without going home to cook? Any favourite vendor combos, simple swaps, or affordable add-ons that actually keep you full until lunch?

A few small things I ask for or add when I buy breakfast out — all cheap and usually doable at a stall/canteen: - Boiled egg on the side (or ask for a double omelette) — instant protein boost and keeps me fuller. - Extra sambar/dal with idli or dosa, or a side of chole for parathas — liquid dal + chickpeas adds both protein and satiety. - Roasted peanuts or bhuna chana sprinkled into poha/upma, or ask vendor to toss in some sprouts if they have them. - Swap stuffed paratha’s extra butter for a bowl of curd/raita or order lassi — protein + helps digestion. - For rolls/omelette wraps, ask for extra paneer or more egg and more veg (onions/tomato/greens) to bulk it up. - If available, a small cup of milk/tea with milk or buttermilk/chaas instead of plain tea — adds calories and protein without fuss. My go-to combos: idli + sambar + boiled egg, poha + roasted peanuts + curd, stuffed paratha + chole or curd + boiled egg. What do stalls near you usually sell? Might suggest tweaks based on that.

Practical, low-effort ways to boost protein and fullness: ask for 1 boiled egg or an extra egg in an omelette/roll; order a small side of plain curd/lassi or paneer bhurji; add sprouted moong/chana salad or roasted peanuts/peanut chutney to idli/poha; swap white bread/maida roll for chapati/multi‑grain if available. Aim to pair protein with some fibre/fat (veg, nuts, curd) — that combination keeps you full longer than carbs alone. Watch portion size, avoid deep‑fried extras and very sugary drinks; eggs and curd are cheap, portable, and high‑impact choices.
