Keeping strength gains while fasting — when and how do you train?
Many people here fast now and then (Ramzan, ekadashi, weekday fasts). If you still wanted to progress on strength, what did you actually change: train before dawn, after breaking the fast, cut volume but lift heavier, or something else? Share timing, short session structure, food around the workout, or any surprises that worked for real progress.

Quick, practical rules that help retain strength during intermittent/Religious fasting: prefer training in the fed window (about 30–120 min after breaking the fast) or ~60–90 min after a substantial pre-dawn meal if sleep allows — performance is usually better fed. Keep intensity (heavy loads) but cut volume if energy is low (short 20–45 min sessions focused on 1–3 compound lifts). Target ~1.6–2.2 g/kg/day protein for strength goals and have 20–40 g high‑quality protein in the meals around the workout; break the fast with easy carbs + protein, rehydrate (electrolytes if needed) and prioritize sleep. If you feel lightheaded or unwell, stop and delay training.
