When gym time's tight, do you focus on one main lift at a time?
Quick question for people juggling busy weeks and strength goals: if you only have the energy/time to genuinely push progress on one or two movements (short gym windows, family, commute), how do you pick which lift to prioritise? Do you cycle monthly (squat → bench → deadlift), keep the others as low-volume maintenance, or follow some other rule? What actually worked?

Quick practical rules: pick the lift that best matches your goal (or the weakest, most transfer-worthy movement) and make it your “priority” day. For the others use low-volume maintenance: 1–2 intense sets (3–6 reps, RPE 7–9) once weekly can largely preserve strength, while the priority lift gets 2–4 working sets and progressive loading. Cycle priorities monthly if you want balanced long-term progress. Use small load jumps, RPE/autoregulation, and keep assistance work short and purpose-driven. This follows the minimum-effective-dose principle for strength when time is limited.
