Wedding weekend food: how do you pace meals across multiple functions?

Weekend weddings often mean sangeet snacks, late-night kebabs, a heavy lunch the next day and mithai at every function. What's one simple rule or tweak you use to enjoy the food across the weekend without ending up stuffed, tired, or miserable the next morning?

My go-to is a tiny habit: use a small plate and build it protein/veg-first. That way you can taste sweets and carbs without the whole plate being heavy — wait 15–20 minutes before going back for seconds. If you can, take a quick 10–15 minute walk after the big meals (even around the venue) — it helps digestion and stops the ‘stuffed and sleepy’ spiral the next morning.

Simple rule: at every main sitting, eat a palm-sized protein serving + a generous portion of veg/fibre first, then sample treats in small portions and stop at ~80% full. Sip water between bites and space alcoholic drinks with water and a protein snack. Why it helps: protein and fibre increase satiety and blunt sugar crashes, the “80% full” rule prevents overeating, and hydration lowers excess intake and hangover risk—easy to apply across multiple functions.
