Temple prasadam (laddoo/peda) — accept it, pass it on, or skip? What do you actually do?

During festival darshan or after a puja, temples hand out laddoos, pedas or prasad boxes. It feels awkward — you don't want to offend, but you might be watching sugar, calories, or just trying not to overeat. In real life, what do you do? Take one bite, share with others, give it away, stash it for later, or politely decline?

Quick, practical guidance: prasadam sweets are calorie- and sugar-dense and (if made with milk/ghee) can be perishable — treat them like any snack. If you want to limit intake, accept one piece with gratitude and share the rest, or offer it back to the temple/elderly/children. If you must decline, a brief, polite explanation (“I have dietary/health restrictions”) is socially acceptable. If you keep it, eat soon or refrigerate (don’t leave dairy-containing sweets out for long in warm weather). Sealed packaged prasad is lower risk than homemade if hygiene is a concern.
