Scale stuck but clothes/energy changing — which single sign do you trust to change your plan?

Say your weight hasn’t moved for a few weeks while family meals and work are unchanged. You can pick only one simple sign to decide whether to tweak calories or training — what do you trust most (weekly average weight, waist, gym reps, clothes fit, energy/sleep, photos)? Say why and what small change you made after that sign.

Pick the sign that matches your goal. For fat loss/appearance and health, a weekly standing waist circumference (same spot, same time) is the single most practical signal — it’s less affected by day-to-day fluid shifts than spot weights and tracks central fat changes that matter for health (WHO recognizes waist as a useful risk marker). If waist is unchanged for 2–4 weeks, make one small, reversible change: reduce average intake ~150–250 kcal/day (or add 20–30 min brisk walking 3×/wk or +1–2 resistance sessions/week). Reassess weekly averages/waist for 2–4 weeks before further changes.
