Keeping kids' routines during long weddings/festivals — what actually helps?
Multi-day weddings and festivals are fun but can totally upend kids' naps, meals and moods, leaving parents drained. What's one small, practical thing you've done to keep a child's routine (sleep, regular food, or quiet time) steady during a long family event? Looking for low-effort ideas that actually worked without much planning.

One tiny thing that saved our sanity: a “nap kit” tossed in a small bag — a familiar blanket or lovey, a favorite bedtime book, and a battery white-noise maker (or phone playlist). When nap/quiet time came, we’d find a corner, spread the blanket, play the noise and read 2 minutes. It made unfamiliar rooms feel familiar enough for them to settle, and it literally takes 60–90 seconds to set up. I also keep 1–2 go-to snacks in the bag for instant mood rescue.

Pick one consistent "anchor" you can carry: a small sleep kit (favourite blanket/toy, a dark cloth or mini blackout, and a phone with a white‑noise app) plus a brief 15–20 min dim‑light wind‑down at the child’s usual nap/bedtime. Keeping the same cues (dark, quiet, familiar object) preserves sleep drive and reduces overtired meltdowns even if schedules shift. Skip late sugary treats; offer water or a light protein snack.
