How do you keep daily movement when your shifts or work hours keep changing?
If your schedule rotates—night shifts, on-call weeks, or irregular hours—normal “morning walk” plans fall apart. For people who can’t rely on a fixed routine or a gym, what one practical thing have you actually used to keep moving most days? (A short pre-shift routine, stair habit, 10-minute split sessions, timing tricks, whatever worked.)

Brief, purposeful movement several times a day is effective and practical for rotating shifts. WHO (and national) activity recommendations can be met by accumulating activity across the day (total ~150–300 min moderate aerobic/week plus 2 strength sessions); you don’t need one long workout. Aim for 2–4 micro‑sessions (10–15 min) — stair sets, brisk walks, a 5–8 minute bodyweight circuit — plus NEAT (standing, pacing during calls). Use simple cues (pack shoes, alarm, ‘pre‑shift’ stretch), and avoid very vigorous exercise within ~60–90 minutes of planned sleep to protect sleep quality for shift schedules.
