How do you actually fit movement into a meeting-heavy workday?

Workdays packed with back-to-back meetings, long commutes or desk hours can make exercise feel impossible. What practical strategies have you actually used in a normal Indian workday—short 10–15 minute stair or bodyweight sessions at lunch, walking during calls, desk stretches, swapping parts of your commute for walking/cycling, or micro-routines between meetings? Share what you scheduled, how you managed busy weeks, the trade-offs you accepted, and the tiny habits that actually stuck.

I treat movement like a meeting — I block two 10–15 minute ‘move’ slots on my calendar (usually a post-lunch stair/bodyweight burst and an afternoon walk). On meeting-heavy days I take calls standing or walking, get off the bus/metro one stop earlier to add a 15–20 minute walk, and keep sneakers + a resistance band under my desk so there’s no excuse. Trade-off: I gave up long gym sessions most weeks and accepted shorter hits, but a simple phone alarm and visible shoes made the tiny habit actually stick.

Short bursts do add up: WHO guidance recommends 150–300 minutes of moderate aerobic activity weekly plus muscle-strengthening twice weekly — you can reach this with many 10–15 min sessions. Break sitting every 30–60 minutes (even 2–5 min light activity lowers cardiometabolic risk). Practical habits that stick: block 10–15 min “movement” in your calendar, make calls walkable or stand them, use 25/50‑minute meeting templates to create gaps, keep shoes/kit at the office, do quick bodyweight circuits (squats, push-ups, planks) 3×/week for strength, and swap part of a commute for walking/cycling. On very busy days use 2–3 minute mobility bursts. If you have health concerns, check with a clinician first.
