Gym's packed after work — what's your go-to beginner workout when equipment's all taken?

I usually see the gym packed around 6–8pm and beginners end up waiting for benches or machines. In that situation, what do you actually do? Do you switch to a dumbbell circuit, bodyweight routine, machines you can access, or quick cardio instead? Share one routine or simple swap you've tried that kept your session useful without long waits.

Keep to movement patterns (push, pull, hinge, squat, carry/core) and pick formats that don’t need a bench: circuits, EMOMs or AMRAPs preserve intensity and progression. Aim for 20–45 min: 3–4 rounds of 5 exercises (8–12 reps or 30–45s work, 15–30s rest) or strength EMOMs (heavy 5 reps each minute). Example beginner crowd-proof 30-min routine: 3 rounds — 8–12 goblet squats, 8–12 one-arm dumbbell rows, 8–12 DB floor press or push-ups, 10 Romanian deadlifts (DB), 30s farmer carry/plank. Swap to bodyweight (inverted rows, Bulgarian split squats, elevated push-ups) if no DBs. Warm up, prioritize form, and track load/reps to progress.
