After a festival: how do you deal with leftover mithai and fried snacks?

After festivals or family functions many homes end up with boxes of mithai, leftover puris/pakoras, halwa and other rich snacks. Wasting it feels wrong, but eating heavy food for days isn't great either. How do you usually manage these leftovers — repurpose, freeze/share, portion-rule, or something else? Share one practical thing you've actually tried that worked.

Quick, practical routine I use: sort immediately into three piles — perishable (milk-based sweets, halwa), fried/snack, and shelf-stable (dry laddoo, sesame chikkis). Refrigerate perishables within 1–2 hours (1 hour if it's hot); donate/share the same day. Portion everything into single-serve containers or zip bags and freeze what keeps. Re-crisp fried snacks in a hot oven or on a skillet (not microwave) to reduce sogginess. Allow 1–2 small servings after meals rather than grazing.
